Holiday Lighting in Davison, MI
Davison began as Davison Station when the railroad was completed through the area in 1871, became a village in 1889 and a city in 1938. Today it sits on M-15 just north of I-69, with a downtown that takes its holiday events seriously. The Davison Downtown Development Authority keeps the calendar full, with the Festival of Flags parade, the Pumpkin Festival, a car cruise and Christmas on Main Street. Christmas on Main falls on the first Friday of December and opens with a Christmas Parade of Lights in which every entry must be lighted.
In Davison Township, the Trail of Lights at the Robert Williams Nature and Historical Learning Center reached its 10th year in 2025. Black Creek flows west through the city, and the 1.6-mile Black Creek Nature Trail follows it through Jack N. Abernathy Park. Davison clearly likes its lights.
